Men’s Discipleship

At Living Branch Church, “We desire for all men to be discipled, to be a discipler and to make disciple makers of others.”

On various Saturdays over the summer, we will have ad hoc get togethers over breakfast and a short devotional. Let Ruling Elder David Lynn (lynndavidf@gmail.com) know if you’d have interest in attending one of these times! This summer we are covering leadership in the home, the church and our community.

With the many family, work, and community responsibilities placed on men in today’s culture, it can be hard to find rest where the expectations are reasonable. We believe that biblical men don’t check out in response to these overwhelming realities, but we enter in emotionally, spiritually, and relationally.

Jesus says “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men (Mark 1:17).” So that is our aim: to be fed by the Bread of Life and God’s Word, to become the men God created us to be in community, and then with a full cup, to be sent out to our homes, workplaces, and cities to be empowered and energetic men who model in word and deed the beauty of the Gospel of Jesus.

We have occasionally gotten together over a campfire or at a local restaurant to pray, discuss theology, and to share about our lives. We have discussed Tim Keller’s “Walking With God Through Pain and Suffering” and J.I. Packer’s “Knowing God” to name a few. Come join us! You were not meant to be a protector, provider, or producer on your own.
